The program includes a specialized program for girls known as the Voices Program. The Voices Program is a research-based gender-specific program targeting female teenage offenders.
II. Youth Transitions Program
This program provides school-based early intervention services to youth at Morgantown High, University High, South Middle, and Westwood Middle Schools. The MAYSP Youth Transitions Program decreases the effect of negative risk factors attributable to youth in transition. Specifically targeting children in the 8th grade at Westwood Middle School and those entering the 9th grade level at University High School, the program works with at-risk youth in the areas of substance abuse, disciplinary incidents at school, violence, truancy and general delinquency.
III. Underage Drinking and Drug Diversion Programs
Monongalia Co. ranks as the #1 county in the state of West Virginia for underage drinking offenses. MAYSP provides alcohol education programming to underage drinking offenders. MAYSP also provides drug education programming for those 18 years and older cited for possession of less than 15 grams of marijuana.
